Being engaged is an extremely memorable moment in your life that is worth capturing — why not go the extra mile (or 2!) and have a Paris engagement photoshoot?
Paris is a wonderful destination for couples and fashionistas alike because you can never be overdressed or overly affectionate.
For this Paris styled engagement photoshoot, Audrey of Le Secret d’Audrey, orchestrated a multi-location photoshoot, in various places all over the city of love for a super romantic, springtime engagement photoshoot amongst the famous Parisian cherry blossom trees.
Read on for Paris engagement photoshoot makeup inspiration and the various ways to make the most of your engagement photo session in Paris.

The Makeup Look
For this Parisian engagement photoshoot, I created a classic, yet versatile look for Morgane, so she could make the most of it at each Paris photoshoot location. We opted for bold, matte smokey eyes and a soft lip — this sultry look paired perfectly with her outfit and bold earrings, and helped her look striking in every photograph. Plus, it was the perfect look to wear BEFORE their outdoor Paris photoshoot, during a quiet and intimate couple’s boudoir photoshoot (find out more below).
Morgane’s Features
Morgane has a medium-deep, warm toned skin with red undertones, deep brown eyes and an oval-shaped face with short, glossy, curled hair, styled up by the talented Ciara of Ciara Coiffure.
The Outfit
The Paris engagement photoshoot outfit comprised a black silk slip gown with plunging V-neck décolleté and a high slit to the right, with black tassel statement earrings and black pumps to match. She paired this with a lightweight, beige-pink, single-button dress coat with a tie belt and a lapel to add contrast to the all-black outfit in a way that is both chic and OH-SO-PARISIAN!
The Makeup
For this Paris engagement photoshoot makeup, we went for a matte black smokey eye that complimented her medium-dark complexion, deep brown eye color, and the black elements of her engagement photoshoot outfit. To stay within the spring spirit, we went with glowing, radiant skin, paired with rosy-pink cheeks and pink satin lips to compliment the pink undertone of her coat. We finished the makeup look with crisp black eyeliner and some individual faux lashes to make her eyes pop!

The Engagement Photoshoot in Paris
Tip #1 for maximizing your engagement photoshoot in paris: start with a boudoir or intimate couple’s portraits photoshoot!
One way to make the most out of your makeup for your engagement photoshoot in Paris is to have boudoir photos taken. After all, your hair and makeup is done, your photographer is already there, and if you’re staying in a place with an iconic Parisian interior…why not?
For this engagement photoshoot, Audrey captured some boudoir-inspired shots before venturing out around the city. Since Morgane was flaunting a sexy silk dress, the look was simple to achieve! Audrey kept Morgane in her black satin slip dress and had Yannick take his shirt off, which added a boudoir element without becoming too intimate. This got them out of their comfort zone, which prepared them for rest of their photoshoot.
Note: If boudoir isn’t your thing, use your engagement photoshoot hair and makeup to have pre-wedding bridal portraits taken, just like my client Mallory did! Mallory used this shoot as an opportunity to have her hair and makeup trial with me, and was able to wear her hair two different ways with her wedding gown!
Tip #2 Take snapshots in a Parisian Garden
Romantic shots in the parks and gardens across the city, with the added element of pink cherry blossom trees is the perfect way to create a memorable and out-of-this-world beautiful engagement photoshoot. Some gardens to consider are the Jardin des Tuileries and Jardin du Luxembourg. But, if you’re looking for something closer to the Eiffel Tower, you can’t go wrong with Jardins du Trocadero.
Jardins du Trocadero is directly in front of the Eiffel Tower, and has a long basin lined with fountains, with lush trees along both sides. In spring, this area is in bloom with beautiful blossoms and is a must-see!
Note: If you choose to make your engagement photoshoot in a garden or park your last stop, bring a bouquet of fresh seasonal flowers, picnic blanket, bottle of rosé, and be sure to purchase a baguette or some croissants along the way. Once your Paris photoshoot ends, you and your fiancé can enjoy a romantic picnic like true Parisians!
Tip #3 End your Photoshoot at a Cafe or Restaurant
Cafés are a quintessential experience for visitors and Parisians alike. There are so many to consider for your Paris engagement photoshoot. For Morgane’s Paris engagement photoshoot, they stopped by a cafe and took couple’s shots and close-up portraits. Afterwards, they were able to enjoy fresh patisseries with café au lait, and get re-energized after their 2-3 hours of shooting around the city.
Note: If you start your photos at the Eiffel Tower viewing platform, Trocadero, stop by a cafe before moving onto your next location, so you can warm up and re-charge. This is a great chance to also do a look change with your makeup and hair artist if you’re planning on wearing two outfits.
Engagement Photoshoots in Paris are the perfect way for couples to capture their love and a great opportunity for brides to explore hair and makeup options before their big day.
