As an American makeup and hair artist in Paris, France, I beautify women from all over the world for their family photoshoots in Paris, but it is a rare occasion when they are from my very own home state, Florida!
Meet my client, Yesy. She and her family were traveling to Paris from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and wanted to commemorate their trip to Europe with a beautiful Paris family photoshoot.
Yesy, owner of Love in Vintage, in Fort Lauderdale, had a clear vision of a delicate, pretty-in-pink family photoshoot in Paris that echoed her style of MODERN mixed with a touch of VINTAGE - the Love in Vintage business aesthetic which she's best known for.

Meet my Paris Family Photoshoot client, Yesy!

Yesy’s Vision for her parisian family photoshoot
Yesy was not looking for any ordinary Paris family photos — she had a dream aesthetic in mind and set out to find the best vendors for the job. Being in the wedding industry, Yesy understood that finding the right professionals is key to achieving the perfect end-result for her Paris family Photoshoot.
For her family photoshoot in Paris, she wanted soft tones, and a touch of fresh flowers in several iconic Paris locations. She wanted beautiful family shots on Paris’s iconic cobblestone streets, with the Eiffel tower, and at Eiffel Tower Carousel - a favorite amongst all children. After diligent research, she found the perfect Paris photographer – Julie Paisley.
Julie was the best photographer for Yesy, as her delicate photography style matches the aesthetic for Yesy’s elegant Paris family photoshoot vision. After discussing ideas together, Julie recommended me to be her hair and makeup artist; not only am I an English-speaker, but I am also from her same region in Florida, and specialize in the soft, yet defined beauty look she wanted!
Once we connected, we got to planning her hair and makeup look for her Paris family photoshoot —which was only 20 days away!
Getting Ready for their Paris Family Photoshoot
Finally, on the morning of her Paris family photoshoot I met Yesy for the first time at Hotel Lutetia Paris, in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood. The weather was chilly, but it was nice and bright, and Paris was expected to have crisp spring-like weather…even though it was still late February! On my way from the car to the hotel lobby, I noticed there were beautiful blossoms unfolding on the magnolia trees. For Paris, trees blossom early March, but since we had a warm spell, the trees were in early bloom!
I set up my work station on the desk in the warm, cozy room which had beautiful views of the Parisian neighborhood and bright morning light. Her daughter Ava was still sleeping while I started beautifying Yesy for their family photoshoot in Paris.
During our beauty session, I learned even more about Yesy and her life in Florida. Yesy and her family live in Fort Lauderdale (only a short 30 minutes from where I used to live!). There, she runs her own business — a wedding event rental company, whose designs elegantly intertwine modern sophistication with playful vintage detail, much like her aesthetic for her Paris family photoshoot!

The Paris Photoshoot Hair & Makeup Look
Yesy’s hair was healthy, medium length, thick, and painted with buttery, blonde highlights. Her complexion was light with pink undertones and hazel-green eyes. For her family photoshoot dress, she chose a tiered tulle gown with a high neckline, in a pale cream tone. The skirt was full yet delicate and had a beautiful airy movement to it - this dress was modern with a touch of vintage flair found in its intricate tulle ruffles. This dress complimented the mauve frock her daughter Ava was to wear, and the blue-grey suit planned for her husband.

For her makeup, Yesy wanted a classic, timeless makeup and hair look for her Paris family photoshoot. Since we spent lots of time discussing her makeup and hair ideas prior to her trip to Paris, I could get right to work on her vision. For her eye makeup, I created a softly-defined eye, with crisp black eye liner and strong emphasis on the lashes. We opted for a fresh soft pink shade for her lips, which also complimented her rosy complexion, hazel-green eyes, and cream tone of her gown.
For her hair, we created airy, voluminous curls to showcase the highlights in her blonde hair for her family portraits in Paris. Then we pinned one side back to elegantly show off her gorgeous vintage-style earrings, which paired perfectly with the dress and added just the right amount of sparkle!
When it was time to put on her dress, the complete look came together seamlessly — better than she imagines! We did one last dusting of hairspray, and then they were on their way to meet their photographer for their Paris family photoshoot.

The Paris Family Photoshoot

Julie (photographer) Met them in the hotel lobby and whisked them away to their first location for their Paris family photoshoot — a beautiful neighborhood, featuring the Eiffel Tower, close to the Trocadero viewing area.
There, Julie captured some romantic shots of Yesy and her husband, and playful portraits with their daughter Ava for their Paris family photoshoot. On the way to the base of the Eiffel tower, they took candid photos, as well as effortlessly posed portraits. For candid photos, they strolled the amusement area, and rode the carousel. Then they took some photographs on the green patches where pink spring blossoms had bloomed from the trees, making their photoshoot more dreamy than ever! This combination of locations and the mix of posed and candid shots created the perfect set of images from their Paris family photoshoot portraits.
Yesy’s vision for the entire photoshoot color palette photographed beautifully against the soft tones of spring in Paris and blossoming trees all around the city. Her hair and makeup look, which complemented her features and style perfectly and harmonized with the tones of her daughter’s mauve dress and husband’s grey-blue suit, resulted in idyllic Paris family photos that the family will get to cherish for a lifetime.

This family photoshoot not only commemorated their trip to Paris but was also the perfect way to encapsulate their daughter’s fleeting childhood, so they could cherish it forever and create memories with her mom and dad that she will never forget.
